Are You Worried?

The Covenant Keeper
“Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed” – Genesis 26:3-4
Today, we look at an interesting story in the scripture, one that perhaps a lot of people are familiar with. It is about God prospering Isaac during a season of famine in the land of Gerar. It is one passage a lot of people turn to in difficult times to draw encouragement and wisdom. A study of the whole situation will help us better understand and appreciate the events that led to this. When God spoke to Isaac, He referred to the covenant between Him (God), Abraham and Abraham’s descendants. God was making it clear that this is the very basis of all dealings with Isaac. So, it wasn’t particularly because of anything Isaac did or didn’t do but because there was a covenant relationship God was committed to.
Also, further study shows that God had promised Abraham that his descendants will be as many as the sands on the sea shore. It is recorded that God gave Abraham one son (of promise). And so, for God’s promise to be fulfilled, it was necessary that Isaac also have descendants! This meant that Isaac and his family had to survive, famine or not! When you are in a covenant relationship with God, you are a child of purpose. God is prepared to suspend all laws of nature to ensure that His purpose is accomplished.
Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.
Confession: Thank you Lord for the Covenant relationship I have with you in Christ Jesus. Help me to rest my faith completely in You.

Stay Put
“Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in me and I in him shall produce a large crop of fruit. For apart from me you can’t do a thing. If anyone separates from me, he is thrown away like a useless branch, withers, and is gathered into a pile with all the others and burned. But if you stay in me and obey my commands, you may ask any request you like, and it will be granted!” – John 15:5-7 (TLB) When young children master the art of walking, they have a tendency to wander off and explore new places on their own. However, when the novelty of being an adventurer wears off, the child will search for a familiar face in the unfamiliar territory. If for some reason there’s no recognisable person in sight, be sure that tears will follow. It’s the same between us and God – we tend to wander off from the will and presence of God. Some of us are even like little children who have just learned to walk, and get to a phase in our lives where we think that we don’t need God any longer. However, when some unfortunate circumstances occur, we cry out and blame God for not protecting us.
The truth is, we will all be lost and afraid if we are not properly connected to God, our source. The sustenance He gives us is what we need to grow and excel – so don’t be a drifter, stay put.
Have a wonderful day!
Confession: I am not a drifter because I rely on the sufficiency of God all the days of my life!

No Longer Slaves
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 5:23 (NKJV) A child of God should not be a slave to the fear of death because Christ already gave you victory over sin and death. The assurance of eternity in heaven should give you peace that surpasses all understanding; and the knowledge you have acquired about eternity gives you the ability to receive God’s love and give it freely. There’s no fear in love, perfect love casts out all forms of fear including the fear of death.
The love of Jesus is eternal and not limited to time and space, nor circumstances. This is the same kind of love God wants believers to share in the world. When a human loses capacity to give love, that person cannot be found worthy of kingdom assignment; it takes a wholesome human being, one with capacity to give and receive love to do kingdom work.
Confession: I receive the capacity to give and receive God’s kind of love.

Insight on Eternity
‘Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end’ – Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT) The concept of eternity can be a bit arduous to understand or explain because no one has never seen, touched or experienced it. However, eternity, is just like life. You didn’t give life to yourself but became aware that you are alive. But the fact that you’re aware of it, doesn’t mean that yourawareness created it. Your life existed before you became conscious of it. It’s the same with eternity, it exists whether you are conscious of it or not.
God has put eternity in your heart and denying its existence is almost like denying your life. In all you do, keep eternity at the forefront of your mind and get ready for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Have a wonderful day!
Confession: I am living every day with the consciousness of eternity with God.

Now & Always
“When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown!” – Isaiah 43:2 Life is full of seasons which we all go through at different times and at different points of our lives. Maybe someone you trusted let you down, or you didn’t get the job or promotion you so hoped for. Maybe you have been battling a health challenge or your finances are just not meeting up to what you expected. God promises you today that through it all, He is and will always be with you. As simple as it may sound, it is true and simply the reality of His word.
In the same light, He also expects you not to abandon others in their times of need. You are strengthened to strengthen others. Difficult seasons are easier to manage and go through with when you have the help of trusted and faithful companions. There is no better proof of love than this. Bask in His loving presence that is with you now and always! Have a fruitful week ahead.
Action: Think of someone that you can be there for, give them a call, set up a meeting and be there!
Confession: I am so privileged to have God be with me through the storms of life. I trust Him even when I don’t understand because I know everything will work out for my good.

Got Love?
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loves is born of God, and knows God.”- 1 John 4:7 The first thing you must note about love is that it is totally different from lust. Lust is impatient while love is always eager to give. The bible describes true love as God so loving the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This is the kind of love God expects from you.
True love really means to have strong affection or deep tender feelings towards God, towards yourself and towards others. It means to love the way God loves, worshipping Him in truth, seeing yourself the way God sees you and caring for others the way God cares for you. Strive to attain this level of love in your life every day. Have a restful weekend.
Confession: I have God’s grace to demonstrate true love to Him, to me and to everyone I meet.

Why Are You Afraid?
“And suddenly a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; but Jesus was sleeping. And the disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us, we are going to die!” He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was [at once] a great and wonderful calm [a perfect peacefulness]” – Matthew 8:24-26 AMP Sometimes, sudden and violent storms come to erupt and upset our lives. They could be unexpected and negative and can give you legitimate reasons to be afraid. Fear is a perceived sense of helplessness or lack of control. When Jesus and his disciples were out on the sea together and the storms began to rage, the disciples feared for their lives because Jesus was sleeping. Ironic isn’t it? But you should know that Jesus was in perfect control of the situation.
God, who loves you dearly, is in absolute control of your life. He can calm the storms of your lives and bring you peace just like that! So why are you afraid? The bible says that perfect love casts away fear and God’s love for you is absolutely perfect! Have a love-filled day!
Confession: There is no storm too big or that rages too loud for God to calm! I walk in His perfect love and that love casts out all my fears.

The Path of Righteousness
“For with the heart a person believes (in Christ as Saviour) resulting in his justification (that is being made righteous, being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God) and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses (his faith openly) resulting in and confirming his salvation.” – Romans 10:10-11 AMP Many hearts are filled with some sort of emptiness that only Jesus Christ can fill. The moment you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord, He sets you apart to be called a child of God. You enjoy a divine father-child relationship that comes with other privileges such as answers to your prayers, divine direction, divine protection, provision and so much more.
God desires to build a personal relationship with you. You only need to believe that Jesus died for your sins and accept Him as your Lord and saviour. Surrender your life to His will and let Him lead you in the path of righteousness. Have a wonderful day!
Confession: I believe that Jesus died for my sins and I accept and boldly declare Him as my Lord and Saviour. I choose to live my life according to God’s plan.

Love… One Another
“After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family. And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt.” – 1 Samuel 18:1-4 NIV Life will bring different people towards your path for various reasons. Your life has been pre-destined by God and carefully orchestrated by Him. He orders your steps to come in contact with people who will help align you with your destiny and purpose on earth or who you will even have to help with theirs. But when they do come, make sure to show them love as you would show yourself. Jonathan loved David as he loved himself. He even took it further by giving David his tunic, sword and belt – which was an indication of unconditional love. Whoever you come across this season, let the unconditional love of God that is shared abroad in your heart be seen, enjoyed and experienced. Have a wonderful Valentine’s celebration today!
Confession: I give love without holding back. God’s immeasurable love shared abroad in my heart will be seen and enjoyed by many that come in contact with me in Jesus name.
