“If anyone boasts, “I love God”, and goes right on hating his brother or sister, thinking nothing of it, he is a liar. If he won’t love the person he can see, how can he love the God he can’t see?” – 1 John 4:20 (MSG) A person who claims to have a budding relationship with God but has poor relationships with others is walking in false spirituality. It is very possible for a person to be spiritually mature and at the same time be emotionally immature. If you manipulate people for selfish reasons, that is an evidence of false spirituality. The only way to deal with this is in the place of prayer. It requires vulnerability and a move of the Holy Spirit within you to change that character. False spirituality has truncated many blessings because people have tried to get things done by their own power thereby short-changing themselves. Search within, if you feel that you exhibit such characteristics, ask the Holy Spirit right now to help you grow the fruit of the Spirit so that you can walk in true spirituality. Confession: I manifest God’s nature and bear the fruit of the Spirit. The love of God is shed abroad in my heart unconditionally and I accept and embrace others. |
