Grace in Measures

The Kingdom of Heaven is like the landowner who went out to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay the normal daily wage and sent them out to work. When those hired first came to get their pay, they protested to the owner, ‘Those people worked only one hour and yet you’ve paid them just as much as you paid us who worked all day.’ “He answered, ‘Friend, I haven’t been unfair! Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?”– Matthew 20:1-15 (NLT)

Sometimes, Christians wonder why God blesses those who don’t work as hard as they do which often leads to envy and disobedience. Sometimes, we judge people based on disabilities or inadequacies that they have and even marginalise them for other reasons.

You must understand that you are made worthy of God’s grace through Jesus. The same way God looked at you and said you were redeemable, is the same way He looks at others and He’s always looking out for the vulnerable and the helpless. You are a vessel God uses to reach out to the marginalised, therefore you cannot be judgmental or envious. If God lifted you up, it was so that you could lift others and not look down on them from where you are.

Have a blessed week!

Confession: I set myself free from comparison and enjoy marvellous help from God.
