“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?”– Matthew 16 vs 24-26 (ESV)
To see transformational change for the greater good, huge sacrifices must be made. You must be willing to give up your comfort, resources, reputation and sometimes, more. Nothing transformational comes easy or convenient. Jesus used metaphors that signified inconvenience and great personal risk to describe the process of becoming a transformational person. However, you are called to pick up your cross and follow Christ, which of course is not always fun.
Nevertheless, a huge reward of being a transformer is seeing that things will get better eventually. Today, study some role models in the bible who brought about the change they wanted to see. As you make up your mind, you will make some real sacrifices around you!
Confession: I have the grace of God to be a transformational leader empowered to sacrifice for the greater good.
