When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” “Yes,” he told them, “… Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy…” Luke 10:17-19 (NLT)
Do you know that leadership is empowerment and empowerment brings joy? Consider Jesus’ example – the selfsame power that made Him God, He gave His disciples, empowering them to cause change in the world. When they returned, they did so with joy because they were able to perform beyond their own expectations! They had a leader who empowered them to perform as well as He did. You should willingly share your knowledge, experience and skills if you expect excellence. Don’t assume that your followers know what to do and how to do it.
If you will cause global change, you must be ready to extend grace to others. A reluctance or inability to empower or share knowledge is the hallmark of an insecure leader! Challenge them to grow and create a conducive environment. They may start off stuttering and making mistakes, but don’t give up. Have faith in their ability and willingness to grow and give your support.
Have a great day.
Confession: I am enabled to empower other people around me for productivity; I am a leader that empowers with the help of God.
