“But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit” – Jude 1:20 (The MSG)
The help of the Holy Spirit in your prayer life can make prayer less of a toil and more of fellowship with God. For many people, prayer is a chore or task on their ‘to-do list’. At the end of each day, they mentally check or uncheck the items on their list including prayer. Most people will agree that prayer is important and should be done daily, and while this is true, it is necessary to understand that prayer has to be more than just a task on a checklist. Effective prayer is fellowship with the Father through the help of the Holy Spirit. It is not just something you do; it is how you live. When you don’t engage the help of the Holy Spirit, prayer can quickly become a toil.
Praying in the Holy Spirit is important as well. The Holy Spirit is able to intercede for us as we pray. Sometimes, you might not even know how to pray as regards a situation; in times like this, you must engage the help of the Holy Spirit.
Confession: I engage the help of the Holy Spirit in my prayer life today and always.
