  • Greed Starts with “I”…

“And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” – Luke 12:19

The root of greed is selfishness. It is the idea of thinking about just you alone and not the need of others. Life is not about what we eat, drink, wear or acquire for ourselves, but more about the lives we touch and the impact we make along the way. If you are living the blessed life and the people around you have never enjoyed a part of your blessing, you are not truly living a blessed but a self-life.  The bible says, “for what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul?” Nothing.

It’s not always about you. Constantly thinking in that direction, sets a person for destruction. Everything we have is from God anyways, so it is important to take a step out of ourselves, to see the reasons for which God has blessed us. We are extensions of God therefore the blessings He gives us must spread to everyone around us – being blessed means to be generous and selfless.

Confession: I am delivered from selfishness and self-centeredness. I am blessed and I will become a blessing.

  • A Life of Impact

So, here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God… – Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)

Is your way of life advancing God’s kingdom? The blessings of God in your life should steer you towards living a life of impact everywhere you find yourself. This will involve you being a steward in your area of influence, affluence, wealth, at your workplace, with our family and so on.

You should take all that God is concerned about very seriously and avoid the scarcity mentality that makes you think you must consume everything. Remember that if you are not faithful in little, you will not be able to get more. Be a person that makes impact everywhere you go with what you have been given and have a fruitful week ahead!

Confession: I am a person that brings impact. People that encounter me must see Jesus in me and be blessed!

  • What’s Your Perception on Value?

“Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done…Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” –  Mark 10:21 NKJV

Have you ever wondered why Jesus would ask a wealthy man to give all he had to the poor? Was it really about the poor? No! To Jesus, it was really about what the man placed value on. He came to Jesus asking for ‘eternal life’ not knowing that he was talking to the “Eternal Life”.  All Jesus asked the man to do was to put aside everything that stood in the way of him gaining eternal life, but he could not see past and missed what he came looking for.

The issue has never been with wealth or abundance, but about the value placed on them in our lives. Many people hold on to relationships, jobs, status, qualifications and so on which could serve as road blocks in truly following Jesus! What defines you? Is it your wealth, your name or your influence? Your self-worth should come from Jesus and not your achievements.

Confession: I surrender all to You and I give You first place in my life in Jesus name, Amen.

  • The Source

Every good gift and perfect gift come from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”  – James 1:17 (NKJV)

Do you know that your job or your business is not the source of your blessing? God is your source. Your job or your boss may be a channel, but you must never confuse them for the source. When you understand who God is, you turn your mind to the limitless abilities He has to provide you with what you need.

Take some time to read the story about miracle of the floating axe or the blessing of divine supply on a national scale and you will understand the kind of God you serve. 2 Kings chapter 6 & 7. Recognizing God as your source takes the limit off your mind. What are you in need of? Go to “The Source” today!

    Have a great day!

Confession: No matter what happens today, I recognize that the unlimited God is the true source of my blessings.

  • The Stewardship of the Blessed Man

“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” – John 1:3 (NJKV).

Blessings are intangible resources from God that produce tangible results. These results are not limited to financial prosperity but you must understand that to live a blessed life is to live a life of stewardship. An understanding that everything, whether material or immaterial comes from God. A steward simply takes care of resources put in their custody and will be called to give account to the real owner. As a child of God, you must understand that “son-ship” also means stewardship which continually triggers access to the blessings of God.

Declaration: I will be a faithful steward to the resources that I have received from God in Jesus name, Amen.

  • A Life of Sacrifice

Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son...”- Genesis 22: 3 – 8 NIV

There’s a popular chorus sung in Nigeria that says, “Abraham’s blessings are mine…I am blessed in the morning, I am blessed in the evening… Abraham’s blessings are mine”. As sweet as that declaration sounds, you should understand that from the time God called Abraham, He called him into a life of sacrifice. Sacrifice requires obedience.

At the point when God wanted to take Abraham’s blessing to the peak, He asked him for a greater sacrifice – his son Isaac. Abraham was obedient. You cannot live the blessed life if you keep leaving your ‘Isaac’ behind or are unwilling to let go of it. What has God been asking you to let go of and release to Him. Do it today, don’t wait another minute before you obey. Walk in obedience and live a life that is sacrificial to only God! Have a blessed day!

Confession: I have grace to worship God not only with the wood and fire but everything that represents Isaac in my life. I lay it all down and walk with the grace available to live a sacrificial life!

  • More than Silver & Gold

Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever.” – Psalm 112 vs 1-3 NIV

Wealth and riches are just one of the physical perks of being a blessed person. But it does not define you as being blessed. The characteristics of a blessed person is that he or she is a giver. They are blessed to be a blessing to others. What is commonly referred to as “blessing” is usually linked to physical manifestations such as prosperity, health, success and so on. These manifestations can be likened to the “PR” move of God which shows the physical representation of a person that is blessed.

A blessed man understands that his life is not focused on what he can get from God, but rather focused on building a relationship with God because he knows that having Jesus and walking with God is more than having silver and gold. Choose to live the blessed life today.

    Have a wonderful day!

Confession: I am blessed because I have a covenant relationship with God and find great delight in His commands. Yes, wealth and riches are in my house but my right standing with God endures forever.

  • Honouring God

“Therefore, the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the Lord says: ‘Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.”- 1 Samuel 2:30 (NKJV)

Honor is very paramount to God and He wants you to relate with Him from that standpoint. The way to honour God is by living a life of worship, service, obedience, giving and sacrificing for His kingdom. Abel was an example of a man who honored God by giving Him the best of his flock as an offering.

All that is precious to you should be given to God to glorify Him. Your time, your gifts and abilities, your body and your heart. God wants to be priority in your life. Will you honour Him with the entirety of who you are? It will be the best decision you will ever make!

Confession: You are my priority Lord. The Glory and the Lifter of my head. I honour you with every part of me including my time and all that I own now and forever more. Amen!

  • The Ultimate Worship

“Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.” – Romans 12:1. NIV

God is in love with you and desires to have a relationship with you. Every time you look in the mirror, the reflection you see is yourself, right? But every time God looks at you, He sees Himself inside of you because you’re a reflection of Him… You are made in His likeness and image. Just like a good man is committed to loving his wife all the days of his life, is how God is committed to loving you… forever.

But you must understand that the hallmark of this walk is a covenant and committed relationship with Him. Are you ready to give him your time, your heart, your influence, your affluence and all you hold dear to be part of your relationship? Just like Abraham, are you ready to give all you possess to God even the long-awaited promises He has made to you? Abraham was ready and willing to sacrifice everything – even Isaac, his promised child. When you do this, you are telling God that you are in this walk with Him for the rest of your life and that is the ultimate worship.

Confession: Today, I commit to my covenant with you Heavenly Father. I decree my covenant with you is sealed. I give you all of me this day, withholding absolutely nothing. Accept my ultimate worship in Jesus name. Amen.

  • According To Your Word

“The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God .“– Luke 1:28- 30

Have you ever been so surprised at a pleasant greeting that you looked back and wondered if the remark was really meant for you? On the day Mary encountered the angel of God, he greeted her in an unusual way, not minding the present situation in her life. The Angel declared Mary, “blessed and highly favoured” even though Mary didn’t know it.

Just like Mary, God is speaking over you this season! You will be greeted with unusual but wonderful remarks! Don’t discard them because they are messages from God! You will be favoured this season, doors will open of their own accord for you and everywhere you go, you will be addressed as blessed in the name of Jesus! God has already declared it, so align yourself with it and say, “let it be unto me according to Your word oh God!”.

Have a wonderful and prosperous month ahead!

Confessions:My ears are attentive to hear good news. I am sensitive to unusual greetings from Heaven and this season congratulations are already in order for me! Thank you Jesus!
