SERVICE TO GOD

From the beginning of creation, God had a reason for creating man and that purpose is to love and serve him, therefore as Christians, one of the vital aspect of our fulfilling destiny includes serving God genuinely. Service gives us a great deal of fulfilment one that gives meaning to our life.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We were created differently and for a unique purpose, tailor-made for each individual. You have to search your heart in sincerity to know and follow Gods predestined part for you and not just decide to go with the crowd.

What is my purpose?  What has God called me to be or do in the body of Christ? Am I where he wants me to be? Am I doing what he has intended for me? All these are questions you have to sincerely answer, because as different as we are, so also are our abilities, interests, talents, gifts, and personality; each uniquely perfect and beautiful, all intended for one purpose – to be used for his glory. By having a clear understanding of this, you enter fully into who you are and can discover Gods will for your life. (Eph 1:6) To the praise of his glorious grace which he has freely given us; the one he loves.

We have been made acceptable in the body of Christ, God’s love for you is unconditional there is nothing you can do to make him love you more or less.

What really pleases God is a life of love, service, and praise; we are called to a life of kindness and total submission to God. Your service to God is exemplified by your actions in your family, community, and place of work. Serving God shouldn’t be done for recognition or praise; it shouldn’t be self-seeking – not because you want something from him in return. Serve selflessly, seek his kingdom and every other thing shall be added unto you.

For example, you go to a shop to buy a cup for the sole purpose of drinking with it; on getting home, you realize there’s a big hole in the bottom of the cup. Do you keep the cup and wash it every day even though you are not using it or get a new cup, one that serves its purpose? I think I already know what you’ll do – you’ll probably buy a new cup and ensure it is kept clean after each use, the cup doesn’t remind you to wash it, you just do it. Same thing applies to us, when you are fulfilling your purpose, God takes care of you and all that concerns you.

Let us walk unanimously bringing our different gifts and strengths, putting it together as a force to build the church which is the body of Christ. Let us not just have a lot to live on, but a lot to live for, serving God from the depths of our hearts by figuring out what you love to do, what God has deposited in you, and use it for the glory of his holy name.

Am immensly blessed.

“Your service to God is exemplified by your actions in your family, community, and place of work” very correct. Some people think service to God is only in that setting we call “church”
