God put His love on the line

-Written by Adanma

What made me love Christ wasn’t that all of a sudden I started figuring out how to do life. What made me love Christ is that when I was at my worst, when I was at my lowest point, when I absolutely could not clean myself up and there was nothing anybody could do with me, right at that moment, Christ said, “I’ll take that one. That’s the one I want.” –Matt Chandler

On your darkest days, when you feel you have failed everyone, including yourself; when you feel you have fallen so low and too far, you must remind your heart that Jesus loves you still and that in the face of it all, you are worthy of His love.

You see, it’s easy to love a pleasant thing; a rose, a work of art, a handy man, a clean dog, a beautiful woman. But real love with depth, the kind of love God liberally lavishes on us, the kind that loves you, your filthy and wasted appearance notwithstanding, the love that wraps you and brings you comfort when you feel undeserving, that is the love God has for you. His loves abounds much more. His arms are stretched out to you, forever loving, never judging, boundless in grace and mercy, always forgiving.

He will love you out of sin and make you brand new. He will give you a new heart and a new spirit. He will heal your brokenness and make you whole.

That’s why He came to earth. That’s why on that rugged cross, with a crown of thorns piercing His head, and nails His hands, He died. All just for you.

But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him. Romans 5:8. (MSG)
