Meet Eyimisan Abusomwan, a visionary leader at the forefront of revolutionizing the job market through innovation and technology. As the CEO and Founder of Runner, Eyimisan is on a mission to bridge the gap between informal skilled hands and unparalleled job opportunities.
Since its inception in 2020, Runner has generated over 7,500 jobs for the informal sector.
With over a decade of hands-on experience in both the informal sector and technology, Eyimisan brings a unique blend of expertise to the table. His journey began as a trailblazer in retail product management at Nomba (formerly Kudi), where he personally engaged and empowered over 2,500 market traders, revolutionizing how they saved and accessed financial services.
Drawing inspiration from his entrepreneurial spirit, Eyimisan ventured into logistics earlier in his journey, leading his transportation platform, Knight Cabs, where he efficiently managed a fleet of drivers and streamlined operations to deliver exceptional services.
A true Renaissance soul, Eyimisan’s academic prowess shines through his B.A. in Theatre Arts from the prestigious University of Ibadan. It was here that his entrepreneurial spark ignited, founding a stage lighting company that garnered accolades and awards for its innovative contributions to the arts and business landscape.
Hailing from the Bronze city of Edo state, Eyimisan’s passion lies in empowering Africa’s informal skilled workforce. With Runner, he is not just building a platform but a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing data analytics, training, and management services tailored to uplift and empower the backbone of Africa’s economy.
